Our cows are raised mostly on grass/hay with corn added during the last 3 months.
We butcher all cows at 2 to 3 years old, giving customers the best possible beef there is. Not like the beef from the store that can legally vote.
Why choose us?
We raise our cattle with no hormones, antibiotics, and no funny business. We feed them grass/hay most of their life with corn thrown in at the end to enhance the taste. We do not use weed killer or any form of pesticide. In the farming world this makes mom and pop farms like us not always as efficient and profitable if we try to sell or run our farm like corporate farms. Luckily in this day and age we can sell directly to customers, cut out the middle man, and farm the way we want to.
What are you getting?
We typically butcher at 2 years old which is prime age for beef. They typically yield 600 pounds of meat per cow or 300 pounds for half a cow. This can fluctuate, but typically we hit on or near our goal. Can’t always make them finish everything on their plate before they leave the table.
The price with the butcher’s fee included typically will come out to around 5-6 dollars per pound. Now if you have been inside a store recently you will see that ground beef is about 5 to 6 dollars per pound alone. With us you will be receiving not only higher quality hamburger, you will receive ribeye, sirloin, etc., for 5-6 dollars a pound. These cuts typically range from 12-15 dollars per pound.
How does this work?
Once you order either a full beef or a half beef your order will be fulfilled in late January. We typically bring in the beefs to Hyde’s Meat Packing in early January.
While the meat is being processed we will have them call you to order the meat cuts and how to package it to your likings. Once the beef is ready for pickup Hyde’s will call you to come pick it up.
Upon pickup there will be a butcher’s fee depending on the cuts and packing you have ordered. This can be anywhere between 1 dollar to 1.5 dollars per pound.

Butcher’s Fee
We used to include this with the original price but with how the price can vary on different cuts and packaging we are having the customer do this at pickup. The packaging of the bulk hamburger vs patties, paper wrapped vs vacuum sealed, etc., can have a larger difference in price. This will all be explained when you get a call from Hydes Meat Packing.
